Does a token copy of a legendary creature die immediately to the legend rule?

The legend rule (CR 704.5j) is a state-based action checked continuously. It states that if a player controls two or more legendary permanents with the same name, that player chooses one to keep and puts the rest into their owners' graveyards. This applies equally to tokens and non-token permanents.

A token copy of a legendary creature enters the battlefield with the same name and supertype (legendary) as the original (CR 706.2). The moment it enters, state-based actions are checked. If you already control another permanent with that same legendary name — whether the original or another copy — you must immediately choose one to keep and send the rest to the graveyard.

However, if you do not control any other permanent sharing that name at the moment the token enters, the legend rule does not trigger and the token survives normally. The problem only arises when two or more share the same name simultaneously.

Concrete example: You control Adanto, the First Fort (legendary land named Adanto) and you create a token that is a copy of Isamaru, Hound of Konda (a legendary creature). Since no other permanent named Isamaru is on your battlefield, the token stays. But if you already controlled the real Isamaru card, state-based actions would fire and you'd have to put one of them into the graveyard.

Note that the token itself goes to the graveyard like any other permanent when the legend rule applies (CR 704.5j), but as a token it ceases to exist once it leaves the battlefield (CR 111.7).
